Payments and Cancellations

How to Pay

A non-refundable deposit is taken at time of booking and then we will contact you with more information and an invoice to pay the remaining balance. Paying the remaining balance is possible via bank transfer.

You will receive an invoice for the remaining balance which you need to pay by at least 6 weeks (42 days) before the start of the trip. Failure to pay the invoice within this time frame will result in your place being canceled.

Any booking made within 6 weeks of the start date of the trip will be invoiced the total amount straight away and will be entirely non-refundable.

All trips must be paid for in full by 6 weeks (42 days) before the trip begins.

How to Cancel

First, all cancellations need to be in writing; send us an email at info@snowstormadventures.com.

Then:

If you cancel more than 6 weeks from the start of your trip or service:

If you are more than 6 weeks (42 days) from the beginning of the trip or scheduled service use, we will refund you any balance paid beyond the deposit.

If you cancel between 6 and 4 weeks from the start of your trip or service:

If you are less than 6 weeks (42 days) but more than 4 weeks (28 days) from the beginning of the trip or scheduled service use then we can't refund you completely but we can refund you for any costs you have paid beyond 50% of the total trip cost or service cost.

(For example, if the trip costs £2,000 and you have already paid £1,300 then we can refund you the £300 because the £1000 is the 50% we need for the expenses we've already committed to on your behalf).

We can also supply you a letter that details what we refunded that you can use to help you claim the rest from your travel insurance.

If you cancel less than 4 weeks from the start of your trip or service:

If you are less than two weeks from the start of your trip before you cancel then unfortunately there is no refund. But we can supply you with a cancellation letter that details this to help you with the process of talking to your travel insurance company to reclaim the costs according to their policy.

What if the weather is terrible, the trains break down, I’m sick or something else happens?

Because of the nature of our trips and services, there are factors that are more likely to affect the type of trip or service we offer more than other trips of services you could purchase. This is adventure travel and is always with some element of risk. These include (but are not limited to) things like weather or transport disruption. Note that some of our destinations have very limited accessibility options in terms of public or private transport.

We are not liable if your attendance or our provision of your trip or service is disrupted because of these factors beyond our control, for example but not limited to, public transport disruption.

However we will, of course, try to be helpful and accommodating and work with you to find an alternative solution. Ultimately, if you cannot attend a trip because of factors outside normal control, we are not liable and cannot refund you for your trip or service. We can provide you with a letter detailing this which you can use to help you claim from your insurance.

What if Snowstorm Adventures has to cancel?

We will do everything we can think of to not cancel your trip. First we will try to provide a comparable alternative, and we reserve the right to make changes to itinerary.

But, if we do ultimately have to cancel your trip or service, we will refund the fees you paid to us in full.

We are not liable or responsible for any costs you have made extra to your booking, for example flights or transport to get you to the trip or extra equipment purchased for the trip. For these costs you must either use them some other way according to your imagination or use your travel insurance (remember purchasing adequate travel insurance from a reputable insurer is mandatory when you purchase a trip with us and is at your expense).
